CERAMICS NOW Magazine - Joon Hee Kim: Featured work
The word “human” has always been at the center of my work. I’m drawn to the ways our differences shape who we are, while also connecting us through shared experience. Through sculpture, I explore identity, memory, and heritage, using form and material to reflect on what it means to belong. Each piece holds fragments of language and personal history, acting as a bridge between cultures and ways of seeing.
In a fast-moving world, I want to slow down and focus on what makes us human — the stories we carry, the beauty in our differences, and the layers that shape us. My work invites reflection and aims to create space for connection and understanding.
